The right food choices are a foundation stone for wellbeing. Diet can safeguard the good health and can be used to stop, even reverse, physical, mental and emotional symptoms. There are plenty of books, magazine articles, blogs and recipe ideas available; there is no shortage of information. So why can it sometimes be difficult to support ourselves with nourishing food?
There are plenty of reasons why eating a healthy diet is not just about willpower – food intolerances and cravings often go hand-in-hand, and if body organs and systems become compromised appetite usually changes too. If vial nutrients like vitamins and minerals are low, the body cannot manufacture vital structures, including enzymes for digestion. Food can be very emotive - we can’t ‘stomach’ a situation, or it ‘leaves a bitter taste in the mouth’ and food can be used for comfort. We categorise foods into ‘good’ and ‘bad’ and can swing from elation to guilt in the space of a single meal.
Kinesiology is a wonderful tool to ‘unravel’ and address issues around food. On a practical level, it can be used to test for foods that are compromising health, for vitamin and mineral deficiencies and to investigate organs involved in digestion that might need some support. On an emotional level, it can uncover unhelpful beliefs and help you create positive ones.
