We can all suffer from poor mental health. As a young adult, seeing patients, as well as close friends and family, go through really difficult times, I wanted to help and that motivated me to understand more. It wasn't long before my career in mental health started, and now after 18+ years, my passion is still the same.
As an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, fully accredited with the BABCP, I can help you or a loved one. I work in the NHS and privately using CBT techniques to help children and adults overcome stress and anxiety, panic, OCD, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem and more.
If you have a phobia that you want to overcome because it is impacting on the way you want to live your life, I can help you.
If you're not sure what the problem is, but want things to be better, please get in touch.

What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a structured talking treatment directed toward solving current problems. Pioneered by Dr Aaron Beck in the 1960s and now a widely used effective treatment. It is recommended by National Institute for Clinical Excellent (NICE) for a wide range of psychological disorders including Anxiety, Depression, Low Self Esteem, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Phobias.
It is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and at times can trap you in a vicious cycle. People often feel overwhelmed by their distress but as a specialised therapist, I can help you to improve the way you feel by teaching you new CBT skills and techniques to change patterns in your thinking and behaviour.
Although CBT is present-oriented it is helpful to identify experiences from your past that are relevant to current difficulties. This helps me to better understand the 'whole picture' and highlights how together we can bring about change to break the vicious cycle and improve your state of mind.
As an essential part of your CBT treatment, you will be required to engage in between session tasks aimed at promoting independence and mastery in utilising skills and techniques learnt in therapy sessions.
