I am a Specialist Mental Health Practitioner with 16 years experience working within NHS, private mental health sector and charity organisations. My work experience includes working within Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT), Primary Care Liaison Work in GP surgeries, Crisis Mental Health Lead Practitioner in A&E department, Adult Mental Health Team, Crisis Practitioner within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in educational settings, Community Crisis Teams and running Crisis Cafe’s with MIND charity. My passion is working with young people and adolescents struggling with their mental health. I support them in managing challenges about anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideations, bullying and any issues regarding their mental health while assisting them to achieve strength, resilience, and good quality of life. I work collaboratively with individuals and their families to ensure realistic treatment expectations are met. Part of the intervention is to refer appropriate external services for additional support when required.
I completed BSc Occupational therapy in 2003 and MSc Public Health in 2010 with the focus on therapeutic interventions; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing, Behavioural Activation and Behavioural Activation. I am registered with The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) fellow.
