Maggie Clinton is an Occupational Therapist who provides assessment, treatment, and advice for those experiencing mental and emotional distress. She works with individuals who experience anxiety and depression, and those who have enduring mental health conditions. As a qualified occupational therapist and experienced trainer, Maggie has developed her career to provide health care and education. With experience spanning over 20 years’, she is involved with the development and delivery of training programmes within both the corporate and public sector,
Maggie works with small businesses (SMEs) to manage workplace stress and promote good mental health. By providing information and support for employers and managers to take positive action by promoting health awareness.
Maggie has worked within the NHS Northampton Healthcare Foundation Trust providing treatment and care to individuals experiencing acute mental health conditions and has been instrumental in the provision of award-winning service improvement within the NHS.
Also working with the Northamptonshire County Council (NCC) Maggie is involved with the Learn2b project, facilitating wellbeing courses in the community. These workshops are also accessible through the Oxford Street Therapy Centre and include relaxation and mindfulness, managing sleep problems, mental health awareness and using writing for expression and as an emotional outlet.
Maggie practices at The Oxford Street Therapy Centre focusing on a holistic approach to wellness, providing wellbeing workshops and personal treatment programmes for individual needs. As part of her training, Maggie spent valuable time at this holistic therapy centre and is proud to now be working as part of the team at the Oxford Street Therapy Centre.
When at leisure, Maggie enjoys nature and creative activities; spending time with her dog, walking through the countryside, painting, writing and entertaining friends and family. She also learning new skills such as bass guitar, tai chi and trying to improve her cooking!

As an occupational therapist, Maggie believes in a holistic approach. This means considering physical, mental and social well-being, to assess the whole situation for treatment and support. Aiming to provide an open, flexible and responsive service for individuals, communities, and organisations.
• For individuals who have been diagnosed with depression, low mood and poor motivation; also anxiety, stress, and tension as a result of poor life balance, extreme changes in circumstances and work/life pressures.
• For individuals experiencing long-term mental health conditions aiming to maintain life balance at home and work.
• For those who are concerned about mild cognitive impairment. Maggie uses a validated cognitive screening tool to assess and establish levels of daily and practical function.
• Also support and information for carers of those with physical, emotional & mental health conditions.
At your first consultation with Maggie, you will be encouraged to discuss areas within your life that may be contributing to ill health.
By looking at what is important to you, considering your self-care, your work and leisure activities, Maggie will work with you to find solutions to everyday problems. Your consultation will focus on your need, problems and priorities and the development of goals for treatment. As the treatment is client-centered you will be encouraged to contribute ideas for your therapy goals.
Your Treatment Plan:
Following this initial meeting you will be provided with a treatment plan. You may only need a couple of sessions to achieve your goals. However, if you experience long and enduring conditions that continue to impact on your occupational balance and performance, you may work with Maggie over a longer period of time. You will work specifically on areas of your life that are important to you to improve quality of life for yourself and those close to you.
Maggie will help you, and those close to you, to understand more about your conditions and how they may impact upon your activities of daily living.
