What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the use of pure, essential plant oils to promote health and well-being. Essential oils can be used for inhalation or topical application, be it directly or in ointments, compresses, bathing or massage. Aromatherapy works at chemical, energetic and emotional levels: oils are absorbed steadily through the skin or they can have an immediate effect on mood through the sense of smell.

What happens during Aromatherapy?

After a thorough consultation, the aromatherapist will select and blend oils to help you individually. The choice of oils may change from visit to visit as your well-being changes. Aromatherapy Massage involves the use of a specialised massage technique for applying the oils. This is the popular form of aromatherapy, which promotes relaxation. In Clinical Aromatherapy, oils are applied specifically to treat specific conditions. In either case, you may be advised towards the home use of oils in ointments, baths etc.

Who is it for?

Aromatherapy aims to balance your body systems and feelings. Aromatherapy has been successfully used to help many different types of conditions including stress-related problems, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive and skin conditions and for pain relief.
